Kava herb relieves anxiety, insomnia and jet lag concerns

The kava herb, found in the Pacific Islands, was first introduced to the west by explorer Captain James Cook in the 1700’s. Roots from this unique shrub were used to concoct a drink for important rituals and rites, as well as for medicinal benefits. Today, the primary use of the kava herb is to reduce stress-related anxiety, insomnia, and related ailments.

As the kava herb is used in the correct dosage, the usual results are a gradual calming effect, rather than the heavier sedation of prescribed anti-anxiety drugs. Lower dosages will assist in keeping you more aware and active, but not feeling tense. With higher dosages, the tendency is to become sleepy, due to the chemicals in the kava root. Reaching the maximum benefit, by following the dosage as recommended by your health care provider, may vary from a few days to a few weeks. Avoid taking kava for more than three months. Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this herb.

Restful sleep, due to the reduction of anxiety, plays a major role in our overall health and well-being. By using the kava herb, anxiety and insomnia are significantly reduced. For a safe and effective introduction to the benefits of this herb, try melatonin with vitamin B6 and kava kava, a product of Nutrition for Life International.
